ANNA GJERVOLD
Director & Founder
Anna is a member of the Class of 2024 at Darien High School, swims competitively for Chelsea Piers Aquatic Club, and has two younger siblings. The idea for MOR Reading took root after her younger brother was diagnosed with dyslexia. After watching her parents work to support him, she became motivated to help her brother as well. She saw first-hand the positive influence that repeated oral reading had on his fluency, accuracy, and comprehension, and as a result, she established MOR Reading to help other children struggling to read. Helping others is extremely important to Anna, and she believes that MOR Reading is an ideal opportunity for high school students to volunteer in a meaningful way with sustained involvement.
